IDEC has just started work on the construction of a new logistics project a few miles from Tours. This project developed by ARGAN for AUCHAN will require eleven months of work. It is due to be handed over next summer.

Another project for ARGAN

ARGAN, which specialises in the development and management of logistics property once again relied on the IDEC teams to carry out the construction of a warehouse around ten miles from Tours. This project developed on behalf of AUCHAN will enable the retailer to improve its logistics business concerning fresh produce, which was previously spread over three separate sites.

A 17,200 m² delivery service with BREEAM Good certification

This new logistics project will cover a surface of more than 17,000 m². It will be based around a temperature controlled delivery unit measuring almost 16,000 m² divided up to store various types of fresh produce. It will include a seafood area with special coatings to resist the effect of the salt in the products that are stored there and a -25°C freezer area. An office block dedicated to admin work is also part of this project.

Aiming for Good level BREEAM certification

Thanks to its expertise in building sustainable projects having already built 1.5 million square metres that have been certified, IDEC worked with their client on the construction of a project where the environmental impact was taken very seriously. The building will benefit from reinforced insulation to limit excessive consumption linked to the generation of coolant. Special loading bays will attempt to limit the infiltration of air during the loading and unloading of heavy goods vehicles. IDEC is aiming for BREEAM Good level certification for this project.

Work has begun

The IDEC teams in charge of the construction of this project have been at work for several weeks with work starting on the bulldozing. They will keep up a fast pace to stick to the schedule with the delivery planned for August 2020 so that AUCHAN can start to use the building in September.

A second project underway in Chanceaux-sur-Choisille

IDEC is carrying out the construction of this delivery warehouse with building work going on just a few metres away and once again for ARGAN. The Service unit at IDEC that specialises in extension work and updating buildings to norms is reorganising a site used by SYSCO. The modifications concern the extension of a 2200m² cold store and the construction of a negative temperature cold room covering 400 m².
