RESULTS OF THE MEASURES TAKEN BETWEEN IDEC AND THE RISK PREVENTION AUTHORITY AFTER SIX MONTHS OF WORKING TOGETHER

IDEC, leader in the design and construction of turnkey projects involving logistics, industrial and service sector properties, signed an agreement at the end of last year with the French Professional Agency for Risk Prevention in Building and Civil Engineering (OPPBTP). Six months after they started to work together on improving safety on building sites, we look at some of the measures taken by IDEC in conjunction with this body.

The aim: to improve safety on building sites

In the framework of the health and safety measures aimed at being more responsible, IDEC signed a partnership last December with the French Professional Agency for Risk Prevention in Building and Civil Engineering (OPPBTP). With this innovative voluntary agreement, IDEC wanted to step up measures to maintain its goal of zero accidents on its building sites.

First sessions to make people aware

The signing of this agreement quickly led to concrete measures being taken with many ideas being put in place to encourage the prevention of risks at the building site for France’s largest logistics project that is currently being built and which is a real test for these measures. Thus, at the same time as OPPBTP safety experts carry out regular visits to the site, and a full time safety officer appointed, IDEC invited all of its partner firms to a meeting to inform them about how to protect their workers from risks. Two extra weeks are scheduled for after the summer holidays. The two parties are also working on personalised training sessions for IDEC’s site managers next year.

A new work tool set up

One of the pillars in setting up this partnership agreement with the French Professional Agency for Risk Prevention in Building and Civil Engineering is also to encourage firms that partner IDEC to adopt a digital tool to help them monitor training programmes for their staff and the equipment being used. This platform developed by the French Professional Agency for Risk Prevention in Building and Civil Engineering also enables them to draw up a single document detailing risks and more generally encouraging information to be shared when working on a building site.
